What is NeoCards?

NeoCards is an AI-powered flashcard application designed specifically for language learning. It helps users build vocabulary in 25 languages using artificial intelligence to generate comprehensive learning context and a proven spaced repetition system to optimize long-term retention.

NeoCards is available on iOS (App Store), Android (Google Play Store), and the Web at neocards.app. All platforms share the same account and data — progress syncs automatically across devices.

• AI-Generated Vocabulary Context: Type any word and NeoCards' AI generates a complete learning card with definitions, synonyms, usage examples, grammar notes, and mnemonics — all in both your native language and target language. Powered by OpenAI with a global lexicon cache shared across all users.
• 6-Step Leitner Spaced Repetition: Cards progress through 6 intervals: 90 seconds, 30 minutes, 12 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks, and 2 months. Rate each card as Hard (reset), Good (next step), or Easy (skip a step). Cards at step 5 are considered mastered.
• Built-in Image Search: Find visual memory aids for any word with integrated image search. Images are cached globally for instant results. Visual associations significantly improve vocabulary retention.
• Daily Goals & Streaks: Set a daily study target (5, 10, or 20 minutes), track consecutive study days, and celebrate milestones. Consistent daily practice, even just 5 minutes, is proven more effective than occasional long sessions.
• Bulk Import: Paste word lists from any source and NeoCards parses them automatically. Supports comma, semicolon, dash, pipe, and tab separators with automatic duplicate detection.
• Text-to-Speech: Hear correct pronunciation for every word using native device TTS. Auto-plays when you flip a card, with manual normal-speed and slow-speed playback buttons.

Platform & Technology

The NeoCards mobile app is built with Flutter for iOS and Android. The web app is built with Next.js and React. All platforms share the same Firebase backend for real-time data synchronization. AI content is generated via OpenAI and cached in a global lexicon, so frequently looked-up words return instantly.
